Amanda Hevener is a freelance writer and photographer.  She has a B.A. in Journalism and English from Ashland University. She is a member of the Akron Press Club , Great Lakes Urban Exchange (GLUE),  the Garfield Heights Historial Society and the Freelancers Union.

While at Ashland she wrote for the school paper, was the sports editor of the yearbook, spent two years interning at the Public Relations office, worked in the campus writing center and had her own show on WRDL, the school radio station. (She also somehow managed to find time to go class and eat.)

She is currently attending the University of Akron, working on a second Bachelor of Arts degree, this time in History. Her goal is to earn a both a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. in History. Her academic interests lie in women’s history, local (Cleveland) history, the history of aviation, art history, the history of crime and America in the 1960s.

Her writing has appeared on SeededBuzz, Swords.com, and BaseballFandom, among other websites. She keeps a neglected blog on Cleveland.com called Life in the Falls. She reviews restaurants for AltOhio, and is the Cleveland Restaurants Examiner for Examiner.com. She is also a Skirt! Setter for Skirt! Magazine.
