There’s weirdness afoot

I’ll start off with the non-cat related news. I’ve decided to take the National Blog Posting Month challenge in April, so be prepared for at least one post a day starting tomorrow. First up are the many book and food reviews that I’ve been working on.

And now, on to the cat stuff:

Abby has never been a lap cat. She’s a sit-next-to-you-and-lick-your-arm-cat, but not a lap cat. Until today, that is. She decided to join Josh on his new(ish) recliner and get comfortable:

In fact, all of the cats have been trying out the new chair, including Isis:

And Hercules:

And on top of all of that, Osiris has figured out how to play fetch. And get on top of the refrigerator:

And for the final picture of the day, I captured Horus out-cold on the cat tree:

And while you’re at it, don’t forget to sign up for my new weekly newsletter. The first issue goes out tomorrow!

2010: A year in review

Here are my top ten events for 2010:

  1. I went fully freelance with my writing and am now officially using my expensive college degree.
  2. I successfully completed November’s National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) challenge.
  3. My cat had kittens!
  4. I finally got new tires on my car.
  5. I upgraded my cell phone (twice) and finally settled on a Droid X.
  6. I also upgraded my digital camera.
  7. Ohio got hit with its first blizzard of the season, and I didn’t have to drive in it!
  8. The FAA N34 crew flew into town because my dad made an RC model of the big plane, and I was able to spend the entire weekend with them at the Cleveland Air Show.
  9. I actually became a football fan.
  10. I interviewed Michael Symon, Cleveland’s Iron Chef.

And there’s more greatness in store for 2011!

Are you ready?

November is National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) as well as National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo.)

NaBloPoMo Goal: write one blog post   every day for the entire Month of November.

NaNoWriMo Goal: write 10,000 words of a novel during the month of November. (Or in my case, 10,000 words of a non-fiction book.)

Are you ready? I am!!!

Things that are weird

This is the weirdest picture that I have ever taken. It’s a view of a gas station in Garfield Heights. I took it from the front seat of my car with the camera on my old Motorola RAZR cell phone. (For the record, this was taken almost 4 years ago.)

I know that the National Blog Posting Month theme is “Look Up”, but if I did that, I’d be posting a lot of pictures of the Goodyear Blimp as it flies over my apartment building. This picture is “Look Out” and I think that’s close enough.

Here we go again…

Along with the plethora of freelance writing and editing jobs that I’m balancing, I’ve decided to tackle NaBloPoMo again. Last month I made it almost halfway, before I threw in the towel, so hopefully this month will be better.

Last month’s Script Frenzy was an epic failure. The only thing I managed to accomplish on the play I was planning on finishing was to download a free trial of Final Draft (script writing software, for those not in the know.) I’m not giving up though. I think I might try to work on it when I get the chance.

National Blog Posting Month Update

It should come as a surprise to no one that I haven’t posted a blog entry every day this month. I was doing really well until last Friday, when I forgot about it. Ooops. I’m still going to try to post a few times a week.

Getting motivated

In order to motivate myself and get out of my “Writer’s Block Rut” that’s mostly caused by laziness, I’ve decided to participate in two writer’s events this month:

Script Frenzy

The goal is to write a 100-page script in 30 days. I’m going to be working on one that I started in high school (and I’m not mentioning how long ago THAT was.)

The other is NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month.) The goal for this one is to write one blog entry every day this month. This one shouldn’t be too hard, since I always have a lot to say!

I will keep all of my readers updated with my progress (or lack thereof) throughout the month.
